Egg Hunt Misery

Here's a LO I did for the Scrapbooking & Crafting Friends DT.

I cannot get a good picture of this LO. The colors are very pretty IRL.

I love this LO.. Even though the pics are of Caleb crying and being sad at his first Easter egg hunt, they are priceless.
The journaling is on the bottom and more detailed journaling is on the back of the LO.
It talks about how it was 38 degrees that day and even though (after pics) we put a coat on Caleb, he still cried. He didn't want to hunt eggs with the other kids, he wanted to be free to run around the yard but the yard was on a busy street so we couldn't let him run, etc.
He was just miserable.

Supplies used:
Green Cardstock: Hobby Lobby
Patterned Paper: Bo Bunny Abbey Rd, Making Memories shaped paper that I cut the edges off of, CI Creative Cafe.
Glittered chipboard shapes: HSN 3 Birds pack
Flower: Prima

Journaling sheet: Making Memories Noteworthy
Alpha stickers and swirl sticker that I cut up to make it my own (the other swirl was SO funky! LOL) : Bo Bunny Abbey Rd.
Small alphas "Misery": Making Memories
Other: staples, Chestnut Roan chalk ink, brown Zig pen.

TFL! I'll have several more projects to upload on the 1st!

Have a great one!

I hope you all have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!
What's everyone doing for your 3-day break?

We are for the most part staying home. My husband has to get our financial paperwork in order.. lots of organizing to do.
Sunday we are going to my parents for a picnic/cookout. They live on a pond so I imagine Caleb and Daddy will be fishing :)

I have two of my DT cards done and am planning on doing my two DT layouts this weekend. (fingers crossed, LOL).

Have a great holiday!!!
Please stay safe and don't drink & drive.

God doesn't make 'em any cuter than this...

So let's be honest, I didn't do a darn thing this weekend that was scrappy related.
I thought about it .. does that count? LOL
I WAS invited to another crop, one not ran by the NJS team but I declined, thinking Doug might not want to watch Caleb for two Saturdays in a row.
But what'd he do all day? Sit on his butt and watch TV!! *sigh*
So I should have went...
Oh well...
And then it was sunny and nice today.. So we were outside most the day :)

Anyway.. the above pics are from tonight. For those of you that don't know the story, Caleb was deathly afraid of water, including baths, well, up until recently.. And he's almost three.
So you can imagine it's been a PITB to deal with.
But recently he's decided he loves to play in the water.. He'll even sit down now.. the entire time. And tonight he decided that the bath water and bubbles taste really GOOD!
So of course, I HAD to get pics of him with soap water in his mouth. Ewwww gross, I know. LOL
But come on, admit it, he's darn cute!! :)
So I just had to share those.
Sorry I have no scrappy stuff for ya...

I WILL get some scrappin' done this week. I have a layout and two cards I need to work on for the If It's Groovy DT.
Til then, have a GREAT week!!

A new layout and WOW, an awesome mail day!!!

Here's a Val layout I tried to scraplift. Not sure I like it but it's done.
I originally did it using two of the new Basic Grey Lime Ricky duck/birdy papers but something was "off". I think I like this better :)
(Click on pic to see detail)

Supplies Used:
Cosmo Cricket Hello Sunshine pp; unknown cardstock; Sass Lass letter stickers; Prima & Maya Road flowers; unknown buttons; Glitz chipboard birdie; Doodlebug black alpha rubons and Fiskars Effervescence border punch used.

And you know how you just have one of those crappy days that turns totally rockin'?
Well last night we had storms here. And I'm a huge baby when the weather is bad. And it was BAD.
Anyway, I went to bed finally around 5am and then back up at 9am. So I was tired.. SUPER tired. Then I got sick this morning.. like tummy sick. I still don't know what THAT was about!*sigh*

Well by 1pm my day turned around when the mailman came. I got a PIZZA BOX of goodies from a RAK I won last week on the Cosmo Cricket blog!!!
And oh my Gawd, the most awesome stuff was inside! They read my mind!!!
Check this out:

I've had my heart set on that Double Deck pad since Winter CHA.. I had it on my wishlist at
A Cherry on Top dot com but then they decided not to order it. So I was majorally bummed and have been looking on eBay and elsewhere trying to find it for a reasonable price.
So imagine my shear utter delight when I opened up that pizza box and the whole dang pad was inside!! And not only that but MORE stuff!!!
You know the awesome, rockin' new Cosmo Cricket line called Early Bird?
The one that's not even on store shelves yet?
Well, they sent it to me! The whole "crafting kit"! And it's SOOOO cute! I can't wait to use it!

I also got a "Jack" blackboard album and some Just Your Type alphas :)

Thank you, Cosmo Cricket! Thank you SO much!! You will forever be my NUMBER ONE scrapbook company (but you already were, tee hee hee).

Well, I'm off to play with Caleb til it's time for bed. Have an awesome night, y'all!

So ya like my new look?

I'm really diggin' it. And LOVE how I can make a scrapbook page into a title!
I might just mess around with it somemore and see what else I can come up with :)

Nothing much going on in the world of scrappin' for me right now.
My organizing plan stalled out when I ran out of the paper I needed to alter a few decorations in my room. Hopefully soon I'll be able to resume that and show y'all pictures. I am lovin' my room.. it's pretty awesome if I do say so myself, tee hee ;)

It's an AWESOME day outside so I've been out playing with Cay and we had a friend come over to play. Caleb has actually been interested in spraying himself (and others!) with the hose. Which is something that has shocked the heck outta me! (he's afraid of the tub STILL). Too bad it's a bit too chilly out for water play. But it will be nice when it's 80+ outside, LOL.

As soon as hubby gets home we're going to grill some burgers and play outside
somemore. Storms are going to roll in tomorrow so we gotta get our play on while we can, LOL.
Have a great rest of the week, everyone!!!

OH! When you have time check out the challenges on the IF IT'S GROOVY blog. There are some awesome prizes this month.. We have a great sponser who makes custom stamps.. Check it out!
And just an FYI.. We'll be having an online crop sometime this Summer.. dates to come. Hope you can join us!

Byeee!

2 years, 10 months and almost 2 weeks ago...

This little guy made me a Mama.

And I fell in love instantly... I matured... I praised God for giving me THE best thing I'd ever had.

We went through trials immediately.. I got to hold him for two minutes then he was taken from me... He was in the NICU for twelve, long days.
But God has plans for this little guy and he was healed.

I love him so much it hurts sometimes worrying about what could happen to him in this crazy world...
He's taught me to laugh, definitely made me cry, frustrated me to no end and taught me to love like I'd never loved before. He is the greatest blessing I have ever received.
And I praise God daily that I am Caleb's "Mom Mom" :)

Happy Mother's Day to all my readers. I love you and hope you have a wonderful day :)

My Crop Layouts

I think I did okay for my first time scrapping away from home :)
Next time though, I will be sure to take more Thickers/alpha's, LOL.
I had to ask one of the girls to cut the "TWO" out for me using her Cricut (thanks, Koty).
(click on pictures to see bigger)

And here is the little pail of MM goodies Melissa gave me. SO cute!! Thanks, Melissa!!

Oh My God!!!

I just got back from my first ever crop OUTSIDE my home (in about 5 years).
WOW, I had SO much fun!!! I met some AWESOME ladies that will probably end up being really good friends, too! And, they are local, WHOO HOO!! Not that I don't love my internet friends but, a girl needs to take a break once in a while and go hang out somewhere else, KWIM? LOL
I was there from 1-6pm, til my butt couldn't take any longer, LOL.
(Note to self: take a chair cushion next time, LOL)
I couldn't believe how many girls were there.. I think at least 30. It was awesome! And the food was to die for.. Especially those cake pops!!
And Melissa (one of the organizers), gave me the cutest little bucket of scrappy treats for helping her with the NJS blog.. thanks Melissa! I love it!!

I got two pages done. I was very limited on them as I didn't take all that I needed but I'm actually pretty thrilled with them.
My goal was four pages and I think I could have done it if I would have kept my mouth shut,
I gabbed WAY too much! LOL

Anyway, thank you very much Melissa for inviting me.. I can't wait to spend more time with you and the NJS girls :)

I'll post pics of my layouts tonight.. Right now I need some Mommy & Caleb bonding time.

My first all day crop!!

Hi everyone! I know I haven't posted anything in several days. I have been super busy, a little bit sick and just plain smitten with my little guy and wanting to spend my time with him this week :)

I'm going to my first all day crop tomorrow with the girls from Not Just Scrappin' and I'm stoked! I'm not going all day.. I don't think I can handle that.. Or Doug can handle it with Caleb, LOL. I'll be there for about 4-5 hours, I think.
I'm not sure what to expect but I know I'll have a ton of fun :)
So tonight I'm going to print out pics and plan out which papers/embellies I'll use (make a "kit", so to speak) and hopefully that will work out, LOL.
I haven't been to a crop in a very long time. I'm really just a lone scrapper or one that has one or two people over and we craft here. I'm not used to going OUT to scrap, so this will be a big change for me.
Any suggestions on things to take.. must haves, etc? I don't want to forget anything! LOL

Email me or comment to let me know. Thanks so much and have a great weekend!
Jenny

A few things...

Just a few things today, girls...

I didn't get much done over the weekend. After five days of non stop rain and cloudiness, the weekend was partly sunny and nice. So I was distracted from National Scrapbook Day, LOL.
I did, however, make a card for a challenge on Live, Imagine, Create.
Here was the sketch:

And here is my card:

And I wanted to give a special shout out to Jodi.
She was randomly chosen to win the Frog challenge over on If It's Groovy.
Here was her entry. SO cute!

Congrats Jodi! Enjoy your prizes from our sponsors!!

Well, it is another really nice day here.. I'm off to enjoy the day.
Have a great day, girls!

My "If It's Groovy" May Design Team projects

Hey! Did you know May is National Salad Month?
Um, YEAH! tee hee :)

I like salad. I eat it every once in a while but it's not like my favorite thing in the whole world and honestly, I couldn't see myself taking a picture of me eating it.
And Caleb won't touch the stuff yet so all month I wracked(sp) my little brain trying to figure out what the heck to scrap for this theme.
I had my heart set on a "More Peas Please" layout because Caleb normally loves peas but the kid was teething and being fickle and I could never get a good shot of him eating them.
So one day when he was chowing down on watermelon I saw the perfect "Salad-like" opportunity and snapped away.
And this time, he was a little HAM! LOL

This paper is by Sass Lass and it's SOOOOO freakin' cute but GIRLY.
But I HAD to use it.. it just SPOKE to me. LOL
(thanks Heidi for this paper.. it is absolutely PERFECT for this LO!)
So anyway, I toned down the girly bright pink by adding a very light coat of white paint to the paper and a dark green background and I think it works for a layout about a little boy eating watermelon, don't you think?

So, here's my SALAD layout (click to see bigger):

As the lead card artist, each month I have to come up with a card sketch and a card theme. Either draw a sketch myself or find one on the net that I love and Niki and I have to make a card in our theme based on the selected sketch.
Well, I for the life of me cannot find the sketch file on my computer right now.. I'll post it once I find it. The theme this month was Mothers Day so I made this little card for my Mommy :)
The colors are off.. The reds actually DO match IRL.

The paper is old Sass Lass (again from Heidi), LOVE it! There are also some Prima felt flowers and some Pink Paislee office lingo on there :)

And then here's my "freestyle" card.
The bird is chipboard.. love her! And the flower is Prima and oh so divine!
The paper is older Heidi Grace. I am all about using up older stuff right now and I have a TON of it, LOL.

Thanks for looking!
Now hop on over to If It's Groovy to check out what my fellow Groovy DT sisters created. Most of the layouts are up already.. more to come.

A new "just for me" layout :)

My blog was down for a while. Sorry about that. I am back in business now, though :)

This super simple layout uses Fancy Pants Kraft Kuts.. Love them!

Sorry for the bad pic.. It's another cloudy icky day here in Central Indiana.

The above layout is all I've done this week. Doug's been out of town so I've had my hands full with Caleb day and NIGHT so, no scrap time for Mama this week, LOL.
But hopefully sometime today I'll be able to post my three DT projects for this month :)

Soooo girls, what are your plans for National Scrapbook Day?
Since I don't have an LSS anymore and my local crop is a few weeks away, I'm participating in an online crop on the Fiskateer board. They are always SUPER fun, I can't wait!

Have a great day, everyone!
